Madeleine Adams - Living with luxury 10:15am – 11:15am
The meaning of luxury has changed. It has evolved into the quality of our experiences within the time we have available. In our homes, luxury can be defined as the pleasure derived from the things we have around us within a beautifully created setting. This experience is very different from a “look” that has been put together. Madeleine shares her appreciation of some of the finest textiles, wall coverings and rugs available today, and the stories behind them.
Jim Connelly - Decorative paint finishes and plastering techniques 11:30am – 12:30pm
Discover tricks of the trade that will be sure to inspire you, from the simplest glazing techniques to sophisticated Venetian plaster. Learn how to create random damask, strié, crackled leather, distressed wood and antique patinas. Jim will share his passion for room transformations, and show you finishes that will help you create your own masterpiece.
Kimberley Seldon - Defining your design style 1:15pm – 2:30pm
Decide how you want a room to feel or you will never be satisfied with how it looks. Let Kimberley unlock the key to understanding and identifying your style and taste. Develop the vocabulary to express your emotional likes and dislikes in home décor so you can confidently move forward with your interior design project.
Ben Washager - Upholstery & drapes 2:30am – 3:30pm
Ben has been responsible for creating upholstered furniture and drapery for some of Canada’s finest homes, working with top designers. He shares some of his secrets for stunning transformations, just from using the right fabric. Ben shows how upholstery can transform furniture, and how traditional and modern pieces can work together.
Dvira Ovadia - Designing an effective room layout & decorating tips 3:45pm – 5:00pm
Dvira offers some sound advice regarding room layouts. She discusses how best to place furniture to maximize smaller spaces or create comfortable areas in a larger room. Dvira has an abundance of ideas to share for accessorizing a room, and she illustrates how accessories can change the look and the feel of a space.
